WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

 

 

OSHA "10-Hour" General Industry Safety Training

    This is a two-day program tailored for all types of manufacturing industries.

The instructor will introduce participants to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.  He will show where the standards are located in the manual, identify the most common violations and ways for abatement, and show you how to locate OSHA sites on the web.  He will also cover at least nine OSHA standards such as:

              -  Walking and working surfaces

              -  Means of egress & fire protection

              -  Electrical safety

              -  Personal protective equipment (PPE)

              -  Machine guarding

              -  Hazardous communications (HAZCOM)

              -  Lockout - Tagout (LO / TO)

              -  Welding, cutting and brazing

              -  Permit required confined space

 

The program will be tailored to meet the needs of the participants, who will receive a CFR 1910 manual, an OSHA course completion wallet card, a course completion certificate from MWCC, and numerous handouts.

 

 DATES

All classes will be taught at or near a campus of Mount Wachusett Community College

OSHA "10-Hour" Construction Safety Training

This is a two-evening program tailored for the construction industries.

The instructor will introduce participants to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and will:

  • Show where the standards are located in the Code of Federal Regulations 1926
  • Identify common violations and abatement options
  • Show how to locate OSHA sites on the Internet

and will provide information on these nine standards:

  • Electrical safety (K)
  • Fall protection (M)
  • Personal protective equipment (E)
  • Materials handling (H)
  • Tools / hand and power (I)
  • Scaffolds (L)
  • Hazard communication 1926.59
  • Excavations (P)
  • Stairways and ladders (X)
