You can find your online course by going to http://bb.mwcc.edu and logging on to the Blackboard Learning Management system.
Logging into Blackboard
Accessing Blackboard
1) Connect to the Internet and open your web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator is recommended)
2) Go to the URL: http://bb.mwcc.edu
3) Blackboard account usernames are created using a combination of first name, last name, and a computer-generated student identification number. Blackboard access information described below.
- Joan Carter has a student identification number of 12345678. Her username will be constructed from her first initial, the first 3 letters of her last name, and the last 4 digits of her student identification number: jcar5678.
- The initial password for Joan’s account is constructed from her first and last initials and the first 4 digits of her student identification number: jc1234.
When names contain special characters, the special characters are removed to construct the user id and password. Special characters are symbols such as periods, apostrophes, or dashes.
Once you are logged in, you will see your course(s) listed under “My Courses.” Click on the course title you wish to enter.
You can explore the Blackboard software and see how courses look and function by logging on to http://bb.mwcc.edu with the username and password demo.
Your Blackboard Email Address
MWCC has created an email account for each student. All course correspondence will be sent to the MWCC email account. Students may easily redirect email from their MWCC accounts to any other email address that they designate.
To receive MWCC email, a student should logon to http://mail.mwcc.edu with the original user name and password used for Blackboard access.

To automatically redirect email to another account of your choice, once you are logged in click on the box that says “Rules” at the top of the page.
Scroll down to the area that says “Redirect All Mail to” and click on the check box next to the title. Then type in the address you want the mail redirected to and click on “update” and all of your email will be directed to your favorite account.
Important Dates
The spring '07 semester runs Jan. 18 to May 8 (unless otherwise noted).
The last day to drop a course without penalty is April 18.
Courses will be made available Jan. 18.
BOOKS
As always, books for web courses are available at the Mount Wachusett Community College Bookstore (Gardner Campus). If you are unable to come to campus to purchase your books, you are now able to order your books through MBS Direct.
MBS Direct is a sister company to our Barnes and Noble Bookstore. This service allows you to purchase your book using financial aid, have your book directly shipped to your home with little turnaround time, and the ability to sell your book back at the end of the semester. To order, go to http://www.mbsdirect.net or by phone at 1-800-325-3252. If you are using your financial aid to purchase a book through MBS Direct, you must first contact financial aid at 978-630-9169 or by email at financialaid@mwcc.mass.edu.
ONLY WEB COURSE BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH MBS DIRECT.
