CSH276 Certified Nurse Aide Training
This course meets the state and federal guidelines for nurse’s aide training and is approved by the Department of Public Health. Prepare for employment in a long-term care institution and be eligible to take the Nurse Aide Certifying exam.
Students must:
- Be 18 years old or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Take an assessment test and score within set guidelines
- Be CPR certified before clinical
- Submit a copy of their license or ID
- Have a CORI check completed (by MWCC)
- Have proof of current TB test (within one year)
- Have at least two Hepatitis B shots before clinical
- Have a signed health release form

Students must take one clinical section. Section is determined in class.
Preparation for Clinical Examination for Dental Hygiene Licensure (NERB)
This course helps students prepare for the clinical portion of the Dental Hygiene Licensing Examination. Students will be able to secure their own prospective patients, screen them for appropriateness, do necessary paperwork and expose, develop and print radiographs if necessary. Equipment, instruments and all disposables including PPE’s will be available to the student in the Dental Hygiene Clinic at the Burbank campus. *Proof of graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene school is expected on the first day of class.
Nursing Math Workshop
Review of math concepts needed for success in nursing including: dosage calculation, abbreviations, and conversions.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and the Healthcare Provider
Designed for individuals who have a duty to respond to emergencies, this course combines lectures and video with hands-on skills training. Topics include: serving as a professional rescuer; basics of bloodborne pathogens; taking action and caring for breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants; using pocket masks and bag-valve-masks; cardiac emergencies including one and two rescuer CPR for adults, children and infants; and Automated External Defibrillation (AED). Completion certificate for healthcare providers is valid for two years from date of completion.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Review
Re-Certification in the skills and techniques needed for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. Current certification, issued within past year, required.
